One year into the “real world” after University, all I could think was, “This is it?!”
“This is what I’ve spent 24 years of my life working towards? I got good grades, got into University, completed a double major and a post-grad certificate, got a job… and now all I do is wake up, go to work, come home super tired, go to sleep just to wake up and do the same sh*t over and over again.” - Jessica
I was unhappy, unfulfilled, and unhealthy.
Has this ever happened to you?
You spend all your time and energy checking off the boxes that your parents or society tells you to check off just to realize that you’re not sure about what you want from your own life. Or the results you get from the checked-off boxes don’t feel the way you thought they would.
It can be a scary or overwhelming feeling. It can make you feel like giving up and just going through the motions of the life you’ve built rather than trying to figure out what you want most.
You don’t have to burn it all to the ground and start over to figure out what you want most. It’s not one or the other: going through the motions or setting it all on fire.
There is a middle ground and it’s called the Goal-Getting Method.
From 2016 until 2022, Jessica has been creating and testing different tools to set and achieve goals. She used to think it was simple, you think about something you want to do or achieve, pick the date you want to do or achieve it by and BAM, you’ve got yourself a goal. But if it were that easy then literally everybody could achieve their goals – and yet only around 15% do.
In 2016, Jessica set her first joy-based goal that didn’t have anything to do with her career. Because let’s face it, most of us are only taught to set personal goals that relate to school and careers.
Setting goals is easy, GETTING goals takes a bit more work.
In 2017, Jessica’s sister Kirsten motivated her to get back into working out for their health. They both loved how the workouts were making them feel, so they started a Virtual Gym under The MORE Society brand.
The Virtual Gym became a training ground for them to figure out what they really wanted from life, chase after it in a sustainable way AND face every challenge head-on.
Clients in the Virtual Gym would always ask, “How did you do it?!”
They wanted to know how to build more confidence, how to lose/maintain/gain weight, how to stay consistent, how to reach their goals, and much MORE.
There are two important things that we share with our clients, one is that everyone is different, so you’ve got to try things to identify what works best for you, and the second thing is that physical fitness is only one part of one ingredient for health and wellness…
Through our personal journeys and experience of coaching other women through their own transformations, we’ve learned that there are 5 key ingredients for long-term success in any wellness journey.
We call these the 5 Pillars of Wellness, aka, The Daily SIFTT. Affectionately named that because it’s important to sift through the things you’re doing in a day or week in order to keep the things you enjoy and ditch the things that are no longer serving you.
